{"id":4829,"date":"2017-09-11T11:45:32","date_gmt":"2017-09-11T11:45:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/heinleinsociety.org\/?p=4829"},"modified":"2017-09-11T14:53:04","modified_gmt":"2017-09-11T14:53:04","slug":"virginia-edition-raffle-winner-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/heinleinsociety.org\/virginia-edition-raffle-winner-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"Virginia Edition Raffle Winner Announced!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce Libby Sharpe as the winner of our first &#8216;Virginia Edition&#8217; raffle giveaway!\u00a0 Libby was announced at the end of our 2017 Annual Meeting held yesterday, September 10, 2017.\u00a0 The contest was open to all Regular and Lifetime Members.\u00a0 Members who had joined for the first time within our last fiscal year were given two chances to win.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8216;Virginia Edition&#8217; set is described as:<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;<span class=\"color_17\">Containing authoritative texts for all of Robert Heinlein\u2019s published fiction and non-fiction, with text taken from the last volume in which Heinlein had a hand in the preparation, or those works restored to their intended state in publications directly overseen by Virginia Heinlein after her husband\u2019s passing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"color_17\">Also included are 450,000 words of newly selected correspondence, most never before published. Each volume is introduced by the late Heinlein scholar and biography author, William H. Patterson, Jr., detailing the circumstances under which the work was written.\u00a0Each Virginia Edition set is bound in leather and printed on buffered, acid-free paper that meets all US archival standards.
